Cooling Conditions

I checked water temps after the recent cool down. Though quite low, water is cooling off. Monday, 8/18, Huntington at the gorge was 70, Winooski at the Duxbury RR Treastle was 70 and Ridley Brook was 60. Today , August 19, the Winooski at the Trestle was 65.

We are heading into early Fall fishing conditions. Keep your thermometers at the ready.

Thanks for the intel, Chuck! Hopefully the cooling-off will come with some timely rain as well.

CVTU works to ensure that robust populations of native and wild coldwater fish continue to thrive throughout Northwest and Central Vermont. In doing so, we will maintain healthy fisheries for the enjoyment of future generations.
